The St. James Hockey Program

The St. James offers ice hockey for kids, teens, and adults, with an extensive variety of programming and training opportunities, both on the ice and off. Enjoy best-in-class equipment and venues, including two NHL regulation-sized rinks and our high-performance center, featuring a RapidShot training system and skating treadmill. STJ Hockey Players will benefit from:

  • Professional coaching customized to every age, position and skill level
  • Developmental programs focused on fundamental abilities and positional awareness
  • Camps and clinics targeting specific skills and winning tactics
  • Intensive, professionally coached academy teams
  • Tournaments and leagues where you can compete against others at your level

Youth Programs

The St. James offers a variety of youth programming for all levels from beginners through youth recreational hockey players. Not sure where your player should start? Email hockey@thestjames.com and we can assist in finding the right program for your player.

Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate teaches the fundamentals of skating for beginners. Sessions include ten classes with 30-minutes of instruction and 30-minutes of free skate.

Learn to Play

Learn to Play teaches fundamental hockey skills including stick handling, passing, skating and shooting. Each session includes ten, 60-minute classes.

Future Caps

The Future Caps program is the gold standard for youth hockey, with the goal of inspiring more families to join the hockey community. First-time participants are provided free head-to-toe equipment, eight (8) classes of age-appropriate on-ice instruction, and certified coaching in a fun and safe atmosphere.

Teams & Leagues

The objective of The St. James Hockey Academy is to provide a highly competitive and supportive learning environment where players of all age groups can maximize the development of their individual athletic skills. Our focus is on mentoring; developing and shaping the character of the young men and women that participate in The St. James Hockey Program. These objectives are achieved through a fun, intensive, and expansive on and off-ice training regimen under the direction and supervision of the dedicated coaches and staff.

HOuse League

Join rec league hockey divisions from 6U to 16U. Weekends in season typically include practice on Saturday and a game on Sunday.

Travel Teams

For passionate players looking to advance, Tier II Co-Ed and Girls Travel Teams play an average of 40-50 games per season and require the commitment of each individual for the betterment of the entire group.

Adult League

The St. James Adult Hockey League (SJAHL) contains six divisions of competitive recreational hockey for players 18+.
