  • Snowplow Sam 1: For children age 3-6 with no skating experience, this level introduces sitting/standing in skates, marching forward, gliding on two feet, and simple dips.

  • Snowplow Sam 2: Builds on basics by adding longer glides, backward walking, backward wiggles, forward swizzles, and the beginning of the snowplow stop.

  • Snowplow Sam 3: Focuses on forward skating strides, one-foot glides, forward and backward swizzles, and a moving two-foot snowplow stop.

  • Snowplow Sam 4: Further advances young skaters by adding backward two-foot glides, more swizzles, two-foot forward-to-back turns, and two-foot hops.

  • Basic Skills 1: For skaters over age 6, this first level teaches sitting/standing in skates, marching forward, forward two-foot glide, dips, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, and a beginning snowplow stop.

  • Basic Skills 2: Introduces scooter pushes (right/left), forward one-foot glides, backward two-foot glide, rocking horse swizzles, backward swizzles, forward-to-back two-foot turns, and a moving snowplow stop.

  • Basic Skills 3-6: These levels develop forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns, emphasizing athleticism (agility, balance, coordination, speed) and prepare skaters for specialization in figure, hockey or speed skating.
