Vanessa DeMerchant

Originally from New Brunswick, Canada, and having dual citizenship, Vanessa has been living in Virginia for the past 7 years. Of those 7 years, Vanessa spent 6 years playing college hockey at Liberty University. In her time spent at Liberty, she won four National Championship Titles while earning many honors along the way such as National Tournament MVP, All-American, and All-tournament awards. She was an assistant captain for the Flames for four years before earning the Captaincy in her final season as a flame. In 2019 she traveled to Siberia, Russia to compete with Team USA in the World University Games.

Vanessa has earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Psychology and obtained her Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Vanessa enters her third season with the St. James 16U Girls.
