Ben Cohen is an active-duty Field Artillery (13A) Officer in the United States Army serving in the DMV area as part of the Army’s Congressional Fellowship Program.
Ben was born and raised in Barnstable, Massachusetts, son of Goalie Rick Cohen (University of Denver and Babson College), where he played High School Hockey and taught learn to skate and learn to play hockey programs with Barnstable Recreation. Ben is a product of an all– hockey family with four other siblings who also played – Elizabeth, Stephanie, Natalie, and Sam. He continued his hockey career at Norwich University (2010-2014), Captaining the ACHA Div. II Cadets to a championship in 2014. While at Norwich, Ben actively volunteered his time with the Northfield Youth Hockey programs to assist with their clinics and a learn to play hockey programs.
After commissioning, Ben was stationed in Alaska where he ran the Army’s Adult Hockey Programs in both Fairbanks, AK (2014-2018) and Anchorage, AK (2018-2022) and continued to volunteer his time with local programs as well.
After arriving to the DMV area last year, Ben joined the Washington, D.C. Armed Forces Ice Hockey Program playing on their “A” team and also playing for the local Army Hockey Team.
Ben holds an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration from Norwich University and a Master’s of Professional Studies in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University.
